An experimental investigation was made of the coupling between fluctua
tions of the fundamental and second-harmonic pulses generated by a sin
gle-frequency neodymium laser with passive Q switching of the resonato
r cavity. An analysis of the experimental results led to the conclusio
n that fluctuations of the radiation energy at the fundamental frequen
cy were accompanied by correlated fluctuations of the duration of the
output pulses.
