INTERACTIONS BETWEEN GLOBODERA-ROSTOCHIENSIS WOLL AND RHIZOCTONIA-SOLANI KUHN ON THE POTATO

Studies on interactions between Rhizoctonia solani and Globodera rosto chiensis on the potato (in pots and in vitro) showed the fungus to inh ibit the nematode population. The antagonism was manifested as: a sign ificant reduction in the final density (P(f)) of cysts, eggs, and larv ae, and in female fecundity, deteriorated health condition, related to the eggs and larvae being parasitized and to their deformations. On t he other hand, the magnitude and quality of potato yield in the joint and separate presences of the two pathogens showed some differences wh ich were statistically non-significant.
