Abstract
A simple kinetic model of As(III) oxidation by Fe(III) in the presence of pyrite and Thiobacillus ferrooxidans is described based on the sto ichiometry of the reaction and bioproduction of Fe(III). The environme ntal consequences of this reaction were considered.
