Abstract
Spores of over 100 aquatic hyphomycetes and other conidial fungi are r eported from rivers in the Transvaal and Natal. Many of these are unid entified and possibly undescribed, pointing to the need for further st udy by isolation and growth in pure culture in order to follow spore d evelopment so that these fungi can be identified or described.
