Sixty-one taxa of the family Cladoniaceae (lichen-forming fungi), are
reported from Spain, mostly from the interior provinces of Iberian Pen
insula. Cladonia iberica Burgaz Br Ahti, sp. nova, C. dimorpha and C.
prolifica are new to Europe, Cladonia borealis, C. cornuta, C. cryptoc
hlorophaea, C. grayi, C. homosekikaica, C. incrassata, C. luteoalba, C
. rei and C. scabriuscula are new to Spain. Many species are new repor
ts for the provinces. The aromatic compounds of each species were iden
tified with thin-layer chromatography. The new combination Cladina arb
uscula ssp. mitis (Sandst.) Burgaz is published.
