Abstract
Linear algorithms which converge quadratically to solutions of Emden e quations are described. Two novel discretisations for these algorithms provide a solution accuracy of O(h(2)), enabling extrapolation to be easily applied. The methodology used is relevant to other physical pro blems, described both by linear and nonlinear (singular) boundary valu e problems.
