M. Ocko et E. Babic, EVALUATION OF THE MAIN CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RESIDUAL RESISTIVITIES OFFE-NI-BASED METALLIC GLASSES, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 138(1-2), 1994, pp. 132-138
The residual resistivities of ferromagnetic alloys from the FexNi80-xP
14B6 and FexNi80-xB20 amorphous alloy systems have been explained with
in the framework of the two-current model. Assuming that the alloys co
ntaining more than 20 at% Fe are strong ferromagnets, it has been foun
d that there are two main contributions to their residual resistivitie
s. One of them, which is proportional to the electronic specific heat
coefficient gamma, we have ascribed to the s-d scattering processes, i
.e. the Mott contribution. The Northeim-Gorter behaviour of the second
contribution indicates electronic scattering from the disordered pote
ntials of binary systems, which is described within the framework of t
he Faber-Ziman theory. The alloys that exhibit spin glass behaviour ar
e also briefly discussed.
