Abstract
Solvent effect on the visible absorption spectrum of )(N,N,N',N'-tetra methylethylene-diamine)copper(II) was applied to estimate D(N), the do nor numbers of the binary mixtures of dimethyl sulfoxide with a series of other dipolar aprotic solvents. It was found that resulting D(N) v alues may be treated as explanatory parameters in the description of t he mixed solvent effect on the stability constants of complexes formed by some macrocyclic ligands with univalent cations.
