Abstract
The first dynamic response of fully packaged 2 x 2 InGaAlAs/InAlAs MQW directional coupler waveguides with spotsize converters is reported. The switching time is sufficiently fast at 100 ps. Only 1 bit of the 1 0 Gbit/s signal is lost during switching.
