H. Sato et al., ENHANCEMENT OF THE INTESTINAL-ABSORPTION OF A CYCLOSPORINE DERIVATIVEBY MILK-FAT GLOBULE-MEMBRANE, Biological & pharmaceutical bulletin, 17(11), 1994, pp. 1526-1528
A cyclosporine derivative, dihydrocyclosporine D, was used for the eva
luation of milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) as an emulsifier of lipoph
ilic cyclopeptides. As compared with olive oil formulation, MFGM emuls
ion significantly enhanced the blood and lymphatic fluid concentration
s of the cyclosporine derivative after intraduodenal dosing in rats. T
hus, it was suggested that MFGM can be used as an intestinal absorptio
n enhancer of cyclosporines.
