Macrouridophora halargyrea n. sp. (Monogenea: Diclidophoridae) is desc
ribed from the gills of the morid teleost Halargyreus johnsonii caught
off the Faroe Islands in the North-eastern Atlantic. This new species
is differentiated from ten other species in the genus Macrouridophora
Rubec and Dronen, in press, by its: specialised heart-shaped haptor d
istinctly set-off from the body proper; inverted orientation of the fi
