Abstract
The electrochemical generator FOTON is designed for the ''Energia-Bura n'' space system. Its operating power ranges from 0 to 16 kW. Allowabl e short-time overload is 25 kW. At nominal load (10kW) the efficiency is 65%. The stack design of the generator allows an output voltage of several hundred volts with unchanged power. The new electrode assembly is 0.9 mm thick; 1 cm(2) of it weighs 0.28 g.
