Abstract
Carrier lifetime (tau) and back surface recombination velocity (S) are determined from transient measurements with solar cells in open circu it voltage conditions. A detailed analysis of the theory of a new expe rimental practice is given. The cell is illuminated at any injection l evel and all recombination processes are considered. The sensitivity i n this determination is shown to decrease for high values of both, tau and S.
