O. Ishihara et al., DEVELOPMENT OF A HYBRID HOUSE WITH THE PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM AND EARTH HEAT-STORAGE SYSTEM, Renewable energy, 5(1-4), 1994, pp. 339-341
To make full use of surplus electricity at night and even off the peak
electric demands in the daytime, a residence(the Clean Energy House)
with the earth heat storage system and the photovoltaic system is bein
g developed in Kumamoto City, Kyushu Island. The thermal performance o
f the earth heat storage system including the house is predicted by nu
merical simulations. The performance of the solar cells installed on t
he roof of the house is predicted with the regression equations from s
ome experimental studies conducted by the authors. It is predicted tha
t the house can be air-conditioned only by surplus electricity at nigh
t. The other electric demands such as lighting, cooking etc. can be me
t by the photovoltaic system.
