This paper considers that the case for using electrohydrodynamic (EHD)
enhancement of heat transfer has been established, especially in ther
modynamic renewable energy applications where temperature levels are r
elatively low. It goes on to establish the basis on which nucleate boi
ling heat transfer is enhanced by EHD forces at surfaces designed to i
mprove condensation, giving experimental results for a six-tube, shell
/tube heat exchanger boiling R12 at ''lo-fin'' surfaces as well as for
single-tube tests using ''Thermoexcel'' and ''Gewa-T'' surfaces.
