Abstract
A strong reduction of the Fermi energy of two-dimensional electrons in a parallel magnetic field was directly observed in a magnetooptical e xperiment. The reduction is higher for a lower electron concentration. The observed effect can be associated with a modification of the ener gy spectrum of two-dimensional electrons by an in-plane magnetic field . (C) 1994 American Institute of Physics.
