Excitation functions for the formation of Pb-200,Pb-201,Pb-202 in the
interactions of 47.9% isotopically enriched Pb-204 with protons have b
een measured by the stacked foil technique within the proton energy ra
nge of 25.7-39.7 MeV. The maximum cross section for the Pb-201 formati
on (mother nucleus of medically important Tl-201) was found to be (700
+/-100) mb at a flat maximum ranging from 33 to 37 MeV. The cross sect
ion results are compared with calculations based on the hybrid model o
f nuclear reactions using the computer code Overlaid Alice.
