Abstract
The major structural and policy changes implemented by National Power since privatisation in 1990 have impacted on major power plant project engineering, including procurement strategy for new major electrical/ C&I installations. Two specific projects, Drax flue gas desulphurisati on, authorised in 1989, and Didcot B combined-cycle gas turbine power station are compared.
