Abstract
Absorption spectrum of an electron in liquid water was analyzed as exp erimentally obtained in femtosecond laser photolysis. The characterist ic features of optical absorption of the electron were explained on th e basis of an energy diagram of the electron states in a separate mole cule and in water. The functional relationship between the solvated el ectron level and basic energy parameters of the irradiated medium was established.
