Ma. Lebedev et Bv. Litvinov, SYMMETRY AND SOME CUMULATIVE PHENOMENA DURING EXPLOSIONS IN WATER, Combustion, explosion, and shock waves, 30(3), 1994, pp. 397-400
The general features of the development of cumulative phenomena in sys
tems with diverging shock waves are examined. It is proposed that the
latter can be converted into converging shocks for the purpose of prod
ucing cumulative effects if special shaping elements are included in t
he structure of the explosive device. Experimental confirmation of thi
s proposition is presented. Symmetry is shown to play an important rol
e in the development of cumulative effects.
