Af. Sved et Fj. Gordon, AMINO-ACIDS AS CENTRAL NEUROTRANSMITTERS IN THE BARORECEPTOR REFLEX PATHWAY, News in physiological sciences, 9, 1994, pp. 243-246
The baroreceptor reflex is the principal mechanism by which the centra
l nervous system regulates arterial blood pressure. As studies begin t
o unravel the identity of the central neural pathways and neurotransmi
tters that mediate baroreceptor reflexes, amino acids appear to play t
he major role.
