Abstract
N-acylisatins can be directly converted in high yields to N-alkylindol es by reduction, at room temperature, with freshly prepared BH3.THF co mplex. This reduction represents an alternative method for the prepara tion of N-alkylindoles with long-chain alkyl groups, especially those with halogens within the carbon chain.
