This article presents a description of one of the most complete Early
Iron Age skeletons pet discovered in southern Africa. It rc ns excavat
ed on the Happy Rest Agricultural School property in the Northern Tran
svaal and was that of a tall male of about 40 to 60 pears old. A high-
status grave is indicated by the burial arrangement and the position o
f the grave. Tooth extraction and mutilation of the incisors were prac
tised Although this person was probably of Negroid origin, there are s
ome features present which are more commonly found in Khoisan populati
ons.
