Ej. Phlips et al., ENHANCEMENT OF NAPIER GRASS GROWTH THROUGH INTRODUCTION OF NITROGEN-FIXING CYANOBACTERIA, Tropical agriculture, 70(3), 1993, pp. 271-273
The effect of introducing N-fixing cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) on
biomass crop growth was studied using a newly isolated strain of Syne
chococcus and a Napier grass - pearl millet hybrid under laboratory co
nditions. Introduction of this cyanobacterium significantly enhanced t
he rate of plant growth and biomass yield from seed to young plant.
