Separation of calcium and sodium chloride solutions in electromembrane
systems (EMS) based on homogeneous sulfonate-containing ''Kaspion'' m
embranes are studied. It is demonstrated that the degree of separation
of the mixture of monovalent (Na+) and bivalent (Ca2+) ions in such s
ystems increases with the increasing density of the polarizing current
reaching anomalously high (compared with the known values for EMS, in
cluding sulfocationic surface-modified membranes) values.
