The method of quasi-equilibrium thin-layer coulovoltmetry is applied f
or investigation of redox reactions proceeding via a mediator. The exp
ressions for chemical capacity of the system, initial relaxation curre
nt, and relaxation function of current upon application to the electro
de of a series of equal low-amplitude potential steps are obtained. Th
e relative effect of the rates of chemical and electrochemical stages
of the reaction on the dependence of the characteristic relaxation tim
e of the system on the potential change and on the total time of the p
rocess is analyzed.
