A. Alaoui et al., CONSEQUENCE OF TREATMENT BY A DELTAMETHRI N SYNTHETIC PYRETHOID, ON REHALOSEMIA IN LOCUSTS, Bulletin de la Societe zoologique de France, 119(3), 1994, pp. 211-216
The treatment of Locusta migratoria by deltamethrin at LD50 and LD75 d
oses, provokes a hypertrehalosemia 15 min after its injection, followe
d, two hours later, by a hypotrehalosemia which is maintained for 24 h
ours. The hypertrehalosemic effect could be the result of a corpora ca
rdiaca hormone release. The subsequent hypotrehalosemia could be relat
ed to a massive use of trehalose or to the inhibition of enzymatic pat
hways of trehalose synthesis.
