Abstract
The epithelial ultrastructure of uterus in the viviparous Typhlonectes compressicaudus was studied in pregnant females. In animals that brin g early stages of development, the uterus wall consists in secretory a nd ciliated cells. At the end of pregnancy, these cells degenerate. A new cellular type then appears in the connective tissue. They would or iginate a new epithelium.
