Abstract
Onset of simultaneous hydrogen photoproduction in Rhodobacter sphaeroi des O.U. 001 occurred during the early stationary phase of growth. The studies on the regulation of onset of hydrogen photoproduction during growth by pH and glutamate suggest that these parameters affect the t otal and rates of hydrogen evolution rather than the onset, except at pH 7.5.
