AN ONLINE DYNAMIC SECURITY ANALYSIS SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION

On-line dynamic security analysis has recently become realistic due to advances in analytical techniques and computer technology. This paper presents experience from implementation of the on-line transient stab ility analysis system at the B.C. Hydro control center. Implementation of that on-line system was conceived as part of a broader on-line dyn amic security analysis system. As a description of what is believed to be the first implementation of a full-scale on-line transient stabili ty analysis, this paper provides insight into the design and evolution of on-line dynamic security analysis.
