WORKSTATION BASED ADVANCED OPERATOR TRAINING SIMULATOR FOR CONSOLIDATED EDISON

This paper outlines the design and implementation of an advanced Opera tor Training Simulator (OTS) based on the OTS developed for the Electr ic Power Research Institute (EPRI) [1], [2]. This simulator is the fir st of its kind in implementing EPRI OTS on workstations having been in tegrated with full-fledged control center functions. The control cente r model is a replica of the Consolidated-Edison's Energy Management Sy stem Control Center functions. The new enhancements made to the EPRI O TS in Con-Edison implementation are described along with instructor ex perience.
