E. Otero et al., SURFACE MODIFICATION OF THE IN-657 SUPERALLOY AFTER EXPOSURE TO A MOLTEN MIXTURE - 82-PERCENT-K2S2O7-18-PERCENT-V2O5 AT HIGH-TEMPERATURE, Surface & coatings technology, 68, 1994, pp. 58-63
The effect of temperature and carbon content on the corrosion kinetics
of IN-657 superalloy in the eutectic melt 82%K2S2O7-18%V2O5 has been
studied by electrochemical methods and surface analytical techniques.
The protective characteristics of the oxidized layers formed under the
test conditions were studied before and after laser surface treatment
. A mechanism of oxidation and reduction of protective layers on IN-65
7 superalloy is presented. The objective of this work was to determine
the effect on the surface modification of temperature, carbon as a co
mponent of the molten salt, and the laser surface modification applied
to the studied material.
