The electrical and optical characteristics of a C-to-C Nz laser are ex
perimentally investigated. Current and voltage appearing in different
points of the circuit are reported. From these measurements one can st
udy the behavior of the circuit, which has not been completely describ
ed up to date. The natural frequencies and the damping constant of the
laser discharge circuit were calculated from the current and voltage
waveforms. The laser used in the experiments provides pulses with ener
gies of about 40 mu J and efficiencies in the range from 0.15 x 10(-4)
to 0.35 x 10(-4).
