We present the case of a 62-year-old man who received a blunt trauma O
D and in whom severe visual impairment developed after eight months. O
phthalmoscopy revealed a full-thickness macular hole, macular hemorrha
ges, and retinal pigment epithelium detachment. Fluorescein angiograph
y confirmed this diagnosis and, in addition, showed subretinal neovasc
ularization (SRNV) under the macular area. This SRNV was also document
ed by indocyanine green angiography. To the best of our knowledge, the
simultaneous occurrence of traumatic macular hole and SRNV has not be
en previously reported.
