Abstract
KrF-laser-induced fluorescence from CF2-radicals was investigated duri ng photolysis of CF2Cl2 and CF2HCl by 193 nm laserlight. In contrast t o other publications, which postulated single-vibronic-level fluoresce nce, the fluorescence is caused by excitation from four closely situat ed absorption bands. These fluorescence bands of four series, are assi gned to A1B1 (nu'1, 6 - 2nu'1, 0) - X1A1 (nu''1, nu''2, 0) transitions with DELTAnu1 = 0 and 0 less-than-or-equal-to nu''2 less-than-or-equa l-to 30. The Franck-Condon factors of the A1B1 (0, 6, 0) - X1A1 (0, nu ''2, 0) transitions, the frequencies of the bending vibration (omega'' 2 = 673 +/- 2 cm-1) and the anharmonicity constants x''22 = -0.94 +/- 0.08 cm-1 and x'22 = -0.44 +/- 0.10 cm-1 were more precisely determine d. For the first time higher anharmonicity constants are evaluated wit h x''12 + x''112 = -3.5 +/- 1.0 cm-1 and x''122 = -0.05 +/- 0.02 cm-1.
