Abstract
Nuclear Electric operates 12 gas-cooled reactor power stations which h ave been in service for between 5 and 30 years. Periodically, comprehe nsive reviews of the safety cases are carried out for each station. Th e approach followed in these reviews in respect of structural integrit y is outlined with the use of illustrative examples.
