The first known vibration analysis of composite cantilevered shallow s
hells having right triangular and trapezoidal planforms is conducted.
Accurate frequencies are obtained using the Ritz method with algebraic
polynomials. This is demonstrated by detailed convergence studies. Th
e lowest six natural frequencies for these shallow shells with double
curvature are listed. Effects of curvature, material orthotropy and la
mination angle on the natural frequencies are investigated.
