An optimal polyharmonic measuring signal for the operational monitorin
g of data transmission and communications systems is proposed, which g
ives the highest values of the power utilization coefficient, uniformi
ty and accuracy in specifying the amplitudes of the harmonic component
s, and interference protection. A procedure for synthesizing such sign
als and a block diagram of the measuring generator are given.
