Abstract
The average error probability of circular 16-ary differential amplitud e and phase shift keying (circular 16-DAPSK) is theoretically analysed for frequency-selective Rayleigh fading diversity channels. The avera ge irreducible bit error probability for circular 16-DAPSK with time d elay spread is shown to be superior to that of 16-DPSK but slightly wo rse than Q-DPSK.
