Abstract
A widely tunable laser diode has been developed in InGaAsP/InP at 1.55 mu m wavelength using an integrated vertical Mach-Zehnder (VMZ) inter ferometer. Regular tuning behaviour is obtained with only one waveleng th control current over a tuning range of 30nm with similar to 50 acce ssible wavelengths.
