Abstract
How well does the intensivist communicate with the parents of critical ly ill children? The authors' experience suggests that this process ca n be enhanced in a number of ways. The article reviews methods to impr ove communication by emphasizing the importance of the first meeting, trust, and understanding parental needs and coping mechanisms.
