Abstract
In order to make optical fibers with excellent radiation resistance ch aracteristics in a wide wavelength region, fluorine-doped silica-core fibers instead of pure-silica-core fibers were studied. Also the effec t of H-2 doping fluorine-doped fibers was investigated. As a result, i t has been clarified that fluorine doping makes the usable wavelength region of fibers extremely wide and H-2 doping on fluorine-doped fiber s makes radiation resistance characteristics of fibers significantly s tronger.
