Abstract
In this paper the author discusses some professional and ethical issue s associated with confessions that defendants sometimes make to expert witnesses in cases of disputed confession. Cases are presented to hig hlight specific points relevant to the nature and scope of the expert' s assessment, as well as to discuss important issues concerning the di sclosure and confidentiality of self-incriminating confessions.
