Crystal polymorphism is important because of the different physical an
d mechanical properties of the polymorphs. Based on a stereochemical a
pproach to controlling crystal polymorphism using stereospecific nucle
ation inhibitors, auxiliaries have been designed for the precipitation
of the gamma-form of glycine (see Figure) from aqueous solutions. The
ideas behind this work are presented, together with results.
