M. Kirchgessner et al., ZINC CONCENTRATION IN THE MILK OF DAIRY-C OWS SUPPLEMENTED WITH HIGH-LEVELS OF ZINC METHIONINE, Journal of animal physiology and animal nutrition, 72(2-3), 1994, pp. 165-167
In a feeding experiment with 34 dairy cows, the effect of daily supple
mentations of 2.2 g zinc/cow, supplied in the form of zinc methionine
(Zn-Met), on the zinc concentration of the milk was investigated over
6 months. Despite the duplication of zinc supply, no significant varia
tions in the zinc concentration of the milk were observed (control: 2.
9 mg; addition group: 3.2 mg Zn/kg milk).
