Hs. Lew et al., EFFECT OF RETINOIC ACID ON CONTRACTION OF COLLAGEN GEL INDUCED BY FIBROBLASTS, Biochemical and biophysical research communications, 205(1), 1994, pp. 455-459
Retinoic acid inhibited the contraction of collagen gel containing fib
roblasts. Moreover, in its presence fibroblasts extensions were shorte
r, fewer collagen fibers were recognized, cell adhesiveness was inhibi
ted concentration-dependently, and microfilaments appeared to be disru
pted resulting in morphological changes including loss of multipolar c
ell processes due to changes in cytoskeletal linkages. (C) 1994 Academ
