Abstract
Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) at loci from the short arm of chromosome 8 has been shown to occur in several types of carcinomas. The consensu s deletion region has been recently mapped at 8p21-p22, distal to D8S2 83 and NEFL loci, and proximal to LPL and D8S265 loci. We report LOH a t D8S133, a marker located in this consensus region, in a panel of bre ast tumor samples. LOH at this locus was observed in about 20% of the tumors.
