TESTICULAR MICROLITHIASIS IN A CHILD WITH TORSION OF THE APPENDIX TESTIS

We report on an an 8-year-old boy with a unilateral testicular mass an d bilateral diffusely echogenic testes on sonography. At inguinal expl oration torsion of an appendix testis with a reactive phlegmon was fou nd and testis biopsy revealed significant testicular microlithiasis. T o our knowledge our case demonstrates a previously undescribed present ation of testicular microlithiasis. The literature is reviewed and thi s disease entity is discussed.
