Tp. Kulagina et al., DIFFERENT METABOLIC POOLS OF CHOLESTEROL AND FREE FATTY-ACIDS IN RAT THYMOCYTE CHROMATIN AND NUCLEAR-MEMBRANE, Molecular biology, 28(3), 1994, pp. 470-473
Incorporation of [2-C-14]acetate into cholesterol and free fatty acid
of rat thymocyte nuclei, chromatin, and nuclear membrane were assessed
in 7 and 45 min of cell incubation. The specific radioactivity of the
lipids proved to be lower in the nuclear membrane than in chromatin.
The results suggest the existence of separate Lipid pools for the nucl
ear membrane and chromatin.
