Abstract
Vegetable yield of Telfairia occidentalis, grown at various distances (3, 4, 5 and 6 m) from a row of mango trees, remained unaffected by pr oximity to the tree line, until about 170 days after planting (DAP). T he onset of the dry season, when water usually becomes limiting, occur red at about 170 DAP. Results support the suggestion that crops whose harvestable parts are vegetative tend to be less affected when grown i n proximity to trees, but provided water is not limited.
